What is the maximum number of Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints that can be added to a single Q-SYS system?

    • There is no hard limit to the number of Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints that can be added to a single Q-SYS system.

Can I route audio from the HDMI input on the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoint even if the video signal is not being routed?

    • Yes, the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoint allows for audio from connected sources to be routed independently of the video signal. This is achievable within Q-SYS Designer Software.

    • When used as either an encoder or decoder, the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints have three (3) HDMI 2.0 inputs.

What is the maximum supported video resolution that the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints are capable of transporting?

    • No, the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoint is capable of transmitting 4K60 4:4:4 without downgrading to lower chroma sampling levels during a transmission.

Do Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints offer Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)?

    • Yes, the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints support the 802.3bt Type 4 specification for Power over Ethernet (PoE) via its LAN A connection. Alternatively, they can be powered via external 48vDC 2.0A power supply.

Is the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoint capable of decoding a network stream from a Q-SYS PTZ-IP conferece camera?

    • In order for the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoint to decode a network stream from a Q-SYS PTZ-IP conference camera and output to a monitor via HDMI, a user must connect the HDMI output of the Q-SYS PTZ-IP conference camera to the HDMI input of a NV-32-H (set as an encoder). The camera's network stream would then be available to any NV-32-H (set as a decoder) on the network.

Can I connect the HDMI out of the PTZ-IP camera to the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoint (set as an encoder) and route that anywhere on the network?

    • The Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoint will not encode USB video sources. The USB connector on the NV-32-H delivers Q-SYS PTZ conference camera feeds and Q-LAN audio channels to connected PC's, similar to the functionality of a Q-SYS I/O-USB Bridge.

Do the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints support video tiling for use in video walls with multiple monitors?

    • The Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints will not offer video tiling at initial release.

Do the HDMI inputs on the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints support video overlays?

    • Yes, each HDMI output on the NV-32-H network video endpoint features a robust, polymorphic 4K60 4:4:4 scaler that can accommodate the most challenging resolution and frame rate conversions.

What type of video compression codec is Q-SYS Shift™?

    • Q-SYS Shift™ is a video compression technology developed by QSC to distribute high quality, low latency video over a standard gigabit Ethernet network. Shift™ leverages DCT and temporal compression technologies, much like those found in H.264 and H.265 video compression codecs.  QSC optimized Shift™ to provide flawless image quality from the most demanding content sources.  Further, Shift™ intelligently manages and optimizes the resulting network bitrate by only refreshing changes within each frame, allowing for significantly reduced bandwidth usage as compared to other compression codecs.

What happens if I have multiple Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints streaming 4K60 4:4:4 on my network?

    • When Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints are connected to the same non-blocking, managed network switch, it is possible to transmit multiple 4K60 4:4:4 streams over the network. When transmitting network streams across multiple network switches, it is important that the uplink between switches can accommodate the intended number of networked video streams being distributed.

If the Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints are connected to a managed network switch, what are the minmum configuration requirements (latency, bandwidth, etc) for the switch port?

    • The Q-SYS NV-32-H network video endpoints operate on the same switching and infrastructure requirements as Q-LAN audio. However, high-bandwidth switching backplanes and non-blocking switches can help to increase the number of network streams that can be utilized on the same network. When transmitting network streams across multiple network switches, it is important that the uplink between switches can accommodate the intended number of networked video streams being distributed.
