ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS SPECIFICATIONS—Core 1100 The central core device of the Q-Sys network audio system shall perform all control, monitoring, and processing functions. It shall be based on the Intel® Xeon® processor platform and shall transfer audio data to and from the network’s I/O devices. It shall manage QSC control devices such as the TSC Series touchscreen modules and other control interfaces, recall snapshots, provide logic functions, and execute scripted commands. The core device shall accommodate up to 256 input and 256 output network audio channel streams, as well as 256 network audio input channels and 256 network audio output channels. It shall offer up to 96 channels of automatic echo cancelation. On its rear panel shall be one slot for a Type 2 I/O card, capable of up to 64 input and 64 output channels, depending on the particular card installed. The rear panel shall also have a DE-9 RS-232 port, an HD15 video output, two aux USB ports, two GPIO ports on DA-15 connectors, two RJ45 connectors for Q-Sys Network LAN A and LAN B, and two more RJ45 connectors for auxiliary non-QLAN networks. The power switch and IEC connector shall also be on the rear, and it shall operate on AC power ranging from 100 to 240 volts, 50 to 60 Hz. The front panel shall have these indicators: a blue “Power” LED, a tri-color “Device Status” LED, and a 400 × 240 pixel True Color LCD graphics display. The front panel controls shall comprise a next-page and a previous-page button, a momentary device ID button, and a recessed “clear settings” switch. The core device’s enclosure shall mount in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, and it shall be 4 rack units (7 inches) high and 17.875 inches (454 mm) deep. The device shall be the QSC Q-Sys Core 1100.
