    New Immersive Surround Loudspeaker

QSC Audio Products is pleased to introduce the newest member of the SR Series surround loudspeaker family, the SR-1290. In response to new audio requirements created by immersive sound formats, the SR-1290 offers high power output, more flexible mounting options, and outstanding sonic performance in a stylish, cost-effective, compact loudspeaker enclosure. “The growing interest in object-based audio and so-called ‘immersive sound’ formats presents some new challenges to both the theatre owner and the sound system designer,” says Barry Ferrell, Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and Business Unit Manager for QSC’s Cinema Group. “A properly configured system requires many more surround loudspeakers and amplifier channels, which can mean a significantly higher cost compared to a 5.1 or 7.1 system. K for Musicians Artist Jon Herington Interview

We recently caught up with Steely Dan and solo guitarist Jon Herington to discuss how he's been using his QSC's. Here's an excerpt from the interview: QSC: What QSC gear do you use, how do you use it, and why do you like it? Jon: I use the QSC K10 monitor speakers as my main PA speakers with the Jon Herington Band. Unfortunately, we only get to work when I'm not busy on the road with Steely Dan, the Dukes of September, or Madeleine Peyroux. But it's been my solo project for many years, and I hope to keep it going. I like the combination of lightweight portability with a serious feature set: they're self-powered; they have unbelievable headroom; there's essentially an on-board two channel mixer in each of them; and they have extremely flexible connection options as well as flexible set-up options. So it's basically about that combination of things: in short, great…

Costa Mesa, CA (October 3, 2013) — QSC Audio Products, LLC is pleased to welcome Shadows Fall bass player and music educator Ed Lanouette into the K for Musicians family. Lanouette first experienced K Family Loudspeakers in Odessa, Texas while on tour with Shadows Fall. Playing at a small venue where there was no room for bulky cabinets, the house sound engineer offered him QSC KW’s as stage monitors for bass. “Of course I didn’t think that the self-powered KW’s would keep up, as many self-powered cabinets are a disappointment," says Lanouette. “I was quickly put in my place with the QSC’s, and humbled. I knew right then and there that I wanted them – period! I was so done trying all the boutique bass amps, and believe me, I have had them all. I’m over it!” Onstage, Lanouette is currently using a KW152 and a KW181 with a Bass Pod xt Live to drive them. “The KW Series…

Jonathan Cain Joins the QSC K Family

Costa Mesa, CA (January 24, 2013) — QSC Audio Products, LLC is pleased to welcome songwriter, keyboardist, longtime ‘Journey’ member Jonathan Cain into the K for Musicians family. Cain first discovered the KW Series when looking for a PA system for his daughter. “I started with the K’s when my daughter Madison, who is a singer, needed a PA to do gigs around town. This was my first QSC experience, and I was amazed at the vocal presence, they are great vocal monitors,” says Cain. “My wife also likes to have dance parties, so I set them up at home and bought the big sub. Once again, I was amazed at the way that the K’s can really rock. I don’t think for the money, they can be beat. You would have to spend three, four times that amount of money to get something to come close.” At Addiction Sound Studios in Nashville, Cains’ studio with fellow engineer, producer and…
